Generally items from Attic or Loft Clearances end up finding life again with someone else, a charity shop or auction. We frequently donate items to many other charities such as; Leeway, St Martin`s and Shelter... We also donate to schools, colleges, adult education centers and self-help groups who need equipment or tools for further education, support and development.

Any items that are not accepted or wanted by charities or schools are then placed in to a local auction for someone else to enjoy and find life again. Any items “not sold” at auction are then considered for waste. Even now the waste is responsibly sorted into piles ready to be sent to the recycling center.

The True Cost Of Waste
Disposing of waste is a big problem and it is becoming more expensive to do so. As a business we are charged £160 per 1 tonne of rubbish by trade waste centers. This does not include our labor. As a guide, one tonne of rubbish is roughly 4-6 washing machines in weight. With the above being mentioned we understand that clearing your loft may seem a very expensive task. However, we may find items of re-sale value, which can be deducted from the total loft clearance quote. This saves our customers money, stops landfill and it saves the planet by re-cycling. A win, win in our books!

Fly-tipping is a criminal offence punishable by a fine of upto £50,000 or 12 months imprisonment if convicted in a Magistrates’ Court. The offence can attract an unlimited fine and up to 5 years imprisonment if convicted in a Crown Court. There are also a number of other possible penalties, including fixed penalty notices and having a vehicle seized. Householders can be fined up to £400 if they pass their waste to an unlicensed waste carrier which is subsequently fly-tipped - Always use a licensed waste carrier like us!
